Moombahton Strikes Back! [DL]

Jon Kwest mixtape caused a lot of questions. A furious discussion on Tropical Bass and under our post where we posed a bit provocative question, whether moombahton is an imitative and reproductive  genre.

The response is smashing. Generation Bass & MixMag just posted a huge, two part compilation, all of of it genuine stuff.

“Always protect your spot. Isn’t that the way it’s done? If you’ve fought tooth and nail, worked your fingers to the knuckle to get to the top, surely it’s logical to put yourself before others? Well, it may be like that in other scenes – and don’t we just know it – but that’s not how they’re doing it in the Moombahton camp.” says Neil Queen Jones in the foreword to the compilation. What follows are 35 tracks to deny all accusations. No meaningless talk, just pure action. And that’s a right way to do it!

Whatever we may have said in this post, we’re taking it back. This is a game changer and it looks like 2012 on the global bass scene is going to belong to moombahton. We’re at imported goods divided upon this – some of us like it, some don’t. What you think about it?
